Yes, yes, I meant Firebird. I'm always confused by the birds. :-) The
choice of names is not the best possible, if you ask me (I have also
seen other people confused by the names -- and I'm not even taking into
consideration the Firebird browser & Firebird database confusion here).

You mean smoother in the sense of anti-aliasing, good looking appearance
or in the sense of programming/better API?

Ah, I see...
I'm not currently using GNOME (in fact, I have never used GNOME, since I
could not get GNOME 1 past the splash screen as it hanged while trying
to detect the window manager to use -- and usually tried to launch an
incorrect one), but I hope to use GNOME 2 once it gets into testing, but
I see that it is still incomplete... :-(
