(i was screwing around with hdparm and lost your reply so i had to find it on the archive. -X68 = bad. :( )

nope. just using the built in adb one.

then as root, i did the chmods as suggested. now setupenv outputs

# chmod 666 /dev/adb
then try it again:

now i'm stuck!
