The kernel you are booting with BootX may not be sending linux
keycodes. You should be using linux.bin from either the
disks-powerpc/current/powermac/ or disks-powerpc/current/new-powermac/
archive folder whichever version you installed on sda7).

I suspect the kernel used may have something to do with this too.
