As I understand it, WEP is bad becuase the key size is far too small.
This means an attacker would only have to make a slight amount of
effort to break the encryption through brute force.

The only kind of VPN I'm really familiar with is IPSec, which I use at
work to access my home network remotely. IPSec can operate in a
point-to-point fashion as well as point-to-network and
network-to-network. If you're curious, the FreeS/WAN docs have a lot

I think that IPSec should work nicely for securing communications over
a wireless network.
