I did not try all versions (I'm just two weeks
away from getting broadband, but for now all is
on dial-up :( )
Last one I successfully got to boot was
linux-2.4.0-test11 from paulus.
btw, I got somewhat confused about the
kernel image: Is it correct to always take
the image to be found in the kernel-source-root
(or would I have to select one specific from
arch/ppc/boot ? The documentation is something
between sparse and confusing, there. So, this
might be part of the problem - or so I hope :) )

I tried both on console and X, each by shutting
the lid and by entering "snooze" on cmd line.
Neither kernel blinks the led.
Well, I'll continue playing around a bit, then :)
have fun, bye
