I grabbed the 1.2.2 RC 4 release of the Java Development Kit from
Blackdown.org (<http://www.blackdown.org>). They have several
mirrors, including
<ftp://metalab.unc.edu/pub/linux/devel/lang/java/blackdown.org/>
The PowerPC stuff is in JDK-1.2.2/ppc/rc4/ below the top level of
the mirror.
I ended up using jdk-1.2.2-RC4-linux-ppc-glibc-2.1.3.sh, a 20 MB
zip file with a Bourne shell wrapper to unpack it. There's also a
17 MB bzipped tar file, jdk-1.2.2-RC4-linux-ppc-glibc-2.1.3.tar.bz2,
and smaller runtime environment packages.
See the README-rc4 file (in the FTP archive) for more information.
