I'm sad to hear that someone new to the PPC world has to learn about R4's 
glibc. It's all so much better now...

If there are any libs or such, you need to run it on them too... anything that 
is dynamically linked with libc. all the apps, all the libs, etc.

This will get messy due to the sheer number of libs that will need to have old 
R4 versions, but if you can't make fix961212 work it's probably your best 
hope...
