Hello, ...

i want to follow on this with you, test it and make sure it works.

there is the .config Jesper uses for his preconfigured kernels, it comes with
one of the kernels, but it is in lha format, and i don't have lha here, and at
home i cannot access my scsi drives because of a cable that went into
reparation.

i am downloading lha source, so maybee i can send it to you.

i think prebuilt packages are not using modules just yet, so i don't know if it
works. but i will test it as soon as soon as i get my cable back (they shiped
it last week so it should be here really soon now.).

if i understood correwctly, you will make a kernel-apus.deb, a kernel-mac.deb
and some other such and a kernel-modules.deb package containing all the modules
?

will you have a debian/rules that automatically makes all of the above packages
? will the modules be compatible between all the kernels ?

I think you will have to have perhaps also a kernel-src-apus-patch.deb or
something like that to apply to the standard source, to get it to work, i am
not sure that an apus source will work out of the box on other sub archs for
now, will ask though.

i was not able to compile lha here, seems i don't have gnu patch, and the
debian lha source is all in the diff, not the orig.tar.gz, seems strange to me.

anyway, just get one of the apus precompiled kernels, unlha it
(non-free/utils/lha) and get the .config.

Hope this helps,

Friendly,
