No, I was not even getting to that part of the build process where it
would be stripped, I was just building the source and using the binary in
the source dir. The output of "where" on the unstripped -O2 binary was
not really even enough to tell where the crash happened, much less what
it was doing at the time. That's why there's an epic4-dbg in extra now.
