Hello,

I have no idea about the Matlab directory layout, so I will skip your first question and go directly to the Octave-related one:

You should move the files from debian/jsonlab/usr/share/octave/packages/jsonlab-2.0.0/* into debian/octave-jsonlab

hi Rafael, thanks a lot for getting back to me.

I figured it out and corrected the issue - it appears that dh_octave installed the .m files to the main package - which I named it as jsonlab (octave-jsonlab is a subpackage).

after renaming the main package to octave-jsonlab, the package is now created correctly.

by the way, I am working on packaging a list of octave toolboxes (some pure .m files, some others with a mex file) made by my lab. see my worklist here

So far, I've uploaded 3 of them and am currently looking for sponsors. Would you be interested in sponsoring my packages? I would also love to work with someone and learn the path to become a maintainer - at least to maintain my own packages in the future.

thanks

Qianqian

Best,

Rafael
