Apparently ocaml will generated aarch64 instructions that on some corner cases (which I don't understand) are incorrect and the new binutils simply rejects these? Perhaps with the old binutils, these same faulty corner cases will sometimes result in these test suite timeouts?

We are making a bit of process over on the upstream mantis ticket. In the worst case scenario if there is no further progress, I think it will be possible to retain native support on arm64 but drop native-dynlink spport.

I'll give it a few more days and if nothing further happens I'll do a upload like that.
