A few multimedia tasks might be useful. Here's one I'd like to start
with (assuming task == package set): Multimedia Task - Professional
Recording:
 - ardour
 - jackd + jackstart
 - qjackconnect (still to be packaged by someone?)
 - jackrack
 - alsamixer-jack
 - ladspa stuff

And I'm sure other packages need to be added ("high end" midi app,
sequencer ?? - still learning here).

And I'm sure "Multimedia Task - DJ Kit" would be popular:
 - sound editor (not ardour)
 - sweep (this is cool!)
 - freqtweak

Yes, this sort of grouping I've also thought would be useful for some
time...

However these days, what I want is a DVD or two - and I think the small
CD distributors can now do them (since DVD-R drives are "affordable").

I think focussing on tasks is probably the way to go. Packaging should
be on -devel or -boot or something...

Eg., perhaps a subtask like "multimedia support packages" containing
soundfonts, samples, perhaps ladspa plugins, etc, which the higher
level tasks (eg. "pro audio") could depend on.
