Re: Auto-building many manpages: redundant work for the buildds ?

2007/7/20, Charles Plessy <charles-debian-nospam@plessy.org>:

...

Discussing with Nelson, the co-maintainer of emboss, we were wondering
if this mass-building was a bit a waste of buildd time since they are
all the same for all arches, and if we could build them offline and ship
them in the diff instead. What is your opinion of this? Or maybe
shipping them in an arch: all package would help reducing the load on
the weaker buildds ?

I think that they could be put into emboss-doc, or similar (I don't
actually remember whether emboss-doc already exists or not, in that
case, you/we could also think of something like emboss-manpages to
Depend: on).

Have a nice day,

Kindly,
David

P.S.: sorry for being absent, but I don't have an Internet connection
right now -- I don't even have a phone line, since I'm at the seaside
home :-( (this is about emboss-explorer and all other packages I'm
maintaining)
