Where did you get the idea that I don't?  I never said so.  I am, after
all, a software theorist myself (with programming as mostly a hobby).

It is not nonsense but my own approach may have shown here.  I rarely do
any programmed exercises; instead, I try to learn theory that helps me
in whatever I am currently working in, and I apply it in my projects
where appropriate.  (This did give me some trouble in some parts of my
pre-masters education, but fortunately the other parts compensated.)
