I haven't looked at it yet (time...) but I have to. This won't work
with apt.

The new installation will ask if you want to go into dselect (and be
swampt by all the thousands of packages) and a selection utility
(which will only show the task packages).

As these are usual packages, you can later handle them with dselect,
and the task selection thing will also be available (in 2.0 and 2.1 it 
was deleted, as it was useless later due to the technique used).

The task packages also have their description of cause.
