So what exactly is the advantage of this CRAN mirror on Github for the
sake of creating Debian packages?  May be I'm missing your point here
(which I have read in the first place).

There is no doubt that there might be such packages.  These might either
not affected by the tools I mentioned or they just slip through to these
metadata gatherers.  This might be acceptable for single packages but
for all R packages this would be a severe disadvantage.

I do not want to be blunt but it needs better arguments to convice me
subscribing a proprietary service.
