Compared to other transitions, a transition from 6.0 to 6.1 to 6.2 within one release cycle sounds really different to me. Besides, the older version shall not be deleted.
Just let the latest stable release propagate into testing. Luis is setting up the git packaging infrastructure to make a transition from one release to another release as smooth as possible. We can deal with all the other issues when they arise.
As version 6.1 is ready to go, isn't it time to at least discuss these issues now?
