ok but now the problem is in the changes to the debian files, the result
is:

dh_installdocs -pimagej   
	install -g 0 -o 0 -d debian/imagej/usr/share/doc/imagej
install: impossibile creare la directory `debian/imagej': Not a
directory
dh_installdocs: command returned error code 256
make: *** [binary-install/imagej] Error 1
dpkg-buildpackage: failure: fakeroot debian/rules binary gave error exit
status 2

i think is a problem due to the changes done in rules and others debian
files that i don' understand :( if i understood the problem is in your
changelog "* Do the copying work in debian/install instead of
debian/rules" that is more compliant but how to change from my
dh_installman -i debian/imagej.1 ?
