Just a small note:
Did you cooperate with ITK upstream about the soname? I only had a look
at the .diff.gz, it seems you've picked 1 as major version number. It's
always dangerous when upstream doesn't know about sonames, and for the
sake of interoperability with other distributions, they should not be
assigned uni-laterally.
