I have a server with a big HD, slow CPU and only 40 MB RAM. I previously tried to build on it, which worked once sufficiently swap was added, but was too slow to be usable. Now I tried to export the disk over NFS and run the buildprocess on another, fast, computer. However, this failed like this: root@Spelmaskinen:/home/hans/mnt/252# lh_clean P: Cleaning chroot root@Spelmaskinen:/home/hans/mnt/252# lh_build P: Begin caching bootstrap stage... P: Begin bootstrapping system... W: skipping bootstrap P: Begin caching bootstrap stage... P: Begin caching chroot stage... P: Begin mounting /dev/pts... P: Begin mounting /proc... Does live-helper work over NFS? Here the (relevant parts of) output of mount when lh_build failed: 192.168.0.252:/home/hans on /home/hans/mnt/252 type nfs (rw,user=root,noexec,nosuid,nodev,addr=192.168.0.252) devpts-live on /home/hans/mnt/252/chroot/dev/pts type devpts (rw) proc-live on /home/hans/mnt/252/chroot/proc type proc (rw) sysfs-live on /home/hans/mnt/252/chroot/sys type sysfs (rw) Kind regards, -- Hans Ekbrand (http://sociologi.cjb.net) <hans@sociologi.cjb.net> GnuPG key: 1024D/7050614E Fingerprint: 1408 C8D5 1E7D 4C9C C27E 014F 7C2C 872A 7050 614E Learn about secure email at http://www.gnupg.org
