Casper or live-initramfs seem to fail both in etch and testing

Grateful thanks for that. The P8100 boots now!

However, in X the screen flickers madly, with 2.25 scans across it.
Is hardware detection in debian-live territory, or do I head off to
debian-boot perhaps? (Ancient ubuntu 5.10 handles the screen, so I'm
hopeful.)
