On my GeForce, on multiple screen mode, I say:

  xpdf -fullscreen -display :0.1 presentation.pdf

I log in on display :0.0, and can use :0.1 as another screen.

man XF86Config-4 and see Screen section.

I know nothing about Radeon, but you can probably find some help on
google with "xfree radeon 9000 multi" keywords ...
