Then I would suggest getting iwconfig, from the wireless-tools 
package. And see what it says.

In my change from 2.4 to 2.6, the wireless pcmcia card changed from 
eth2 to eth3. So maybe the same thing happened to you. The only way I 
could be sure was to see the output from iwconfig, which when 
executed by itself scans all the interfaces looking for wireless 
extentions and lists them.
