Re: 2.6 686 kernel hangs at boot

Hello,

I also had problem with the 2.6 kernel on my VAIO using kernel image 686 
or after compiling the sources. :-(
It sayd that the kernel could not find the partition, but I compiled all 
the filesystems directly (not as module)

Yesterday I downloaded the latest 2.6.4 from kernel.org and olá booting 
with no problem. ;-)
I choose 2.6 because of ACPI so ACPI=off is not an option.
