Re: 2.6 686 kernel hangs at boot
Sorry. I'll tell you all I can think to tell.
Here is my lilo.conf (pertinent parts):
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.3-1-686
label=2.6.0
read-only
initrd=/boot/initrd.img-2.6.3-1-686
Both /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.3-1-686 and /boot/initrd.img-2.6.3-1-686 exist.
running lilo gives me this:
Warning: '/proc/partitions' does not match '/dev' directory structure.
Name change: '/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disc' -> '/dev/hda'
Added 2.4.24 *
Added 2.6.0
As you can see I am currently running 2.4.24. It boots without any
problems. Both are the apt-gettable official debian binary packages.
I have tried the option "acpi=off." I wrote this:
2.6.0 "acpi=off"
It still did "Uncompressing kernel.... bootting Linux kernel."
And then stops.
Thank you,
David
