This script has nothing to do with installing kernel patches
with make-kpkg.

Hmm. That looks OK too.

Well, we need to know if the script was called, and if so,
what happened when it was applied. A few echo statements in the
application script would help. And then run the whole thing under
script, and mail me the typescript.
