Mike, please watch your quoting and linelengths (~72 characters). The
formatting made your message difficult to read. I have separated out the
material that you quoted so that the attributions would be correct, and
next time, please don't top post.

Anyways, your NeoMagic 2093 is supported by X. The readme for the
NeoMagic driver says that in your XF86Config, you should have the lines:

    Section "Device"
         Identifier   "NeoMagic"
    EndSection

or you could just use xf86config (console) or xf86cfg (GUI). Touchpads
are frequently /dev/psaux (PS/2), although yours could be different. If
you use the GUI method of configuration, you can try out the differnt
mouse protocol until you find one that works.
