Kernel version, Debian version, PCMCIA version?

When the antenna "lights up", does this mean that it's receiving
packets, or is it an error signal? I'm not familiar with the card or
the orinoco drivers, sorry.

What does /var/log/daemon.log look like when you connect?

What are the entries for the card in /etc/pcmcia/config.opts? Do you
have the correct network_name set?

Does the Avaya need special patches to pcmcia sources? Is the support
for the card built into the kernel?

/g.
