RE: Trident 9525DVD

Phil,

It doesn't look like your card is supported under X 4, unless it is
compatible with one of the chipsets on this page:

http://xfree86.org/4.0.1/Status30.html#30

The colors and screens you see on your panel I also experienced when I
didn't have my X3.3.6 modelines and monitor settings correct. However when
I setup X4.0.1, the -configure option worked perfectly.

For the record, with X3.3.6 on my laptop I was not able to switch
resolutions. My panel is designed for 1024x768. With X4, without
specifying any modelines, using only the -configure setting and putting the
resolutions in my config file, I am now able to instantly switch between
640x400, 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768.

I have an ATI Mobility M-1 chip, and a clone laptop made by American Sunrex.

Hello,
I am trying to get XFree86 4.0.1 running on my Lifebook C4155.
I has got the Trident 9525DVD chip. I tried to create a XF86Config
by using "XFree86 -configure". But a "startx" with this configfile
would totally mess my sceen up.
I can see a white screen and blue flashes on it - it just looks
horrible. Is it possible that this might destroy the screen?

Ok, how can I make X run? I searched for config-files but couldN#t
find one that was working.
I would use XFree86 3.3.6 also but I thought the Trident 9525DVD was
not supported.

Thanks,
Phil
