Yes, I was assuming that they were synonyms.
But, as a technical term, I think the translation should choose one
word and use it consistently.

I mean: the original English strings always talk about "bugs", and do
not use other words that are synonyms in non-technical speak (such as
"errors", "flaws", "defects", and so forth).
Likewise, I think a translation should use a single technical term for
"bugs".

This would be inconsistent with the rest of the Spanish translation,
where "error" is used for the original English "error" and not for
"bug"...
As I said, "bug" is always translated as "fallo" in all the rest of
es.po ...

Moreover, if you take a look at the obsolete translations (the ones
that begin with "#~" at the end of the es.po file), you can see that
"display bug lists in HTML" was previously translated as "mostrar la
lista de informes de fallo en HTML".
That is where I took inspiration from.
