Hallo Helge und Mitlesende,

untenstehend die Antwort des Paketbetreuers Georges zu meinem Problem
mit dem in der Luft hängendem Begriff "symbolic addresse". Ich hätte es
mir wieder einfach machen und "symbolische Adresse" als Übersetzung
nehmen können. Aber ich mutmaße, dass dies kein eingeführter Begriff ist
der Nutzer irritiert ist, weil in diesem Debconf-Dialog auch noch
"distinguished names" auftauchen, unter welchen ich mir auch Namen im
lokalen Netz vorstelle. Das ganze wäre einfacher zu überschauen, wenn
nur von Rechnernamen beziehungsweise deren numerische Entsprechung, also
der IP-Adresse die Rede wäre.

Offen gestanden habe ich mir Georges Darlegungen noch nicht
durchüberlegt. Aber der räumt ein, dass die Terminologie in der
englischen Vorlage verbessert werden könnte und er würde das sicher auch
angehen, wenn ein guter Vorschlag kommt.

Das Gute ist, dass kwartz-client nicht übermäßig komplex zu sein
scheint, aber es hat halt Bezüge zu LDAP und reicht bis in die
Wolken. Mit ersterem habe ich mich nie beschäftigt, von zweiteren kenn
ich auch bloß die Varianten am Himmel.

I wrote the package kwartz-client to fit the particular case of my
school, while trying to make it useful for other schools using a similar
set of services from a central server.

As long as you have a kwartz server coming from kwartz.com, the LDAP
service and the Samba file shares are managed by the same machine, so
its "symbolic address" does not vary. For example, in my school, the LDAP
URI is something like "ldap:serveur.lycee.jb" and the "symbolic address"
is "serveur.lycee.jb".

Maybe I should rephrase the template definition for this particular
configuration variable ; please suggest me something more appropriate?
The idea is that in some places, LDAP service and file share service
might be managed by different machines.
