there is no problem, the next component in the sequence takes over

installer menu may be shown in order to select some alternative
action. If there are no problems, the user will never see the
installer menu, but will simply answer questions for each component

Het Debian installatiesysteem bestaat uit een aantal componenten die

Elke component voert zijn taak uit, waarbij vragen kunnen worden gesteld
aan de gebruiker als dat voor die taak nodig is. Als er geen probleem optreed,
wordt vervolgd met de eerstvolgende component in de cyclus zonder dat
daarvoor interactie (anders dan voortgangsinformatie) met de gebruiker nodig is.
Als er een probleem optreed, wordt een scherm met een foutboodschap getoond
en kan het menu van het installatiesysteem worden getoond zodat de gebruiker
een alternatieve actie kan selecteren. Als er geen problemen optreden, zal de
gebruiker het menu van het installatiesysteem nooit zien, maar gewoon de
achtereenvolgende vragen voor iedere component beantwoorden.

is gekozen èn het installatiesysteem zelf kan bepalen welke acties nodig zijn
èn het niet noodzakelijk is dat de gebruiker op de hoogte is van mogelijke
alternatieve keuzen, dan zal het installatiesysteem zelf de keuze maken en
de vraag niet tonen. Meldingen van kritische fouten hebben een prioriteit
CRITICAL waardoor de gebruiker altijd geïnformeerd zal worden.

(dit in tegenstelling tot de tegenwoordig meer vertrouwde grafische interface).
De muis is in deze omgeving niet actief. Dit zijn de toetsen waarmee u kunt
navigeren binnen de diverse @dialogen@. Om `vooruit' of `terug' te gaan tussen
getoonde knoppen of selecties gebruikt u de pijl <keycap>rechts</keycap>of
<keycap>Tab</keycap> toets respectievelijk de pijl <keycap>links</keycap> of
<keycombo> <keycap>Shift</keycap> <keycap>Tab</keycap> </keycombo>. Met de pijl
<keycap>omhoog</keycap> en <keycap>omlaag</keycap> selecteert u de verschillende
regels in een @rolbare@ lijst en ook om de lijst zelf te @rollen@. Daarnaast
kunt u, bij lange lijsten, een letter intoetsen waadoor meteen het deel van de
lijst de zal worden getoond waarvan de regels met die letter beginnen. Ook kunt
u met <keycap>Pagina omhoog</keycap> en <keycap>Pagina omlaag</keycap>
de lijst per pagina rollen. Met de <keycap>spatie balk</keycap> selecteert u
opties, bijvoorbeeld bij een keuzevak. Gebruik de &enterkey; om keuzes te
activeren.
