Re: [debian-knoppix] re: Modem problem
Hi Shawn,
CD: Cluterk Noppix V3.2
=======================
I carried out following test without result, ppp0 connected to ISP but
could not browse Internet.
I made this test on a machine installed with 2 NICs (this machine), one
for connecting to server (cable not connected yet) and another to
broadband.
BEFORE configuring network card

Configuring Network Card
Knoppix -> Network/Internet -> Network Card Configuration.
IP address: 202.123.68.192
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 202.123.71.254 (also tried 202.123.71.32)
(also tried DNCP broadcasting without success)
root@ttyp1[root]# service network restart
-su: service: command not found
root@ttyp1[root]# /etc/init.d/networking restart
Reconfiguring network interfaces... done.
root@ttyp0[root]# ping www.yahoo.com

I also tried to delete all entries on
Knoppix -> Network/Internet -> Network Card Configuration.
IP address: (delete)
Subnet Mask: (delete)
Gateway: (delete)
root@ttyp1[root]# /etc/init.d/networking restart
Reconfiguring network interfaces... done.

Still could not connect Internet

B.Regards
Stephen
Remark: I also tried by removing one NIC, also without result.
