Kester, you may want to investigate the following:

There supposedly is a working cross-compiler to be
downloaded from there, but as I told you I have not
used it myself, just had coincidentally been reading
a thread on the subject on a mingw mailing list.

I think the difficulty is setting this up yourself,
starting from sources, but once that's done (or if the
above binary works), it's definitely more than a toy.
If I recall correctly, the nightly mingw builds of the
ruby interpreter are produced this way, for example.
