I just installed Knoppix-KDE (with KDE 3.1) onto my harddrive and noticed
that several menu items present when it is run from the CD are not available after it is installed, particularly the KNOPPIX menu/sub-menu items. Where is this information stored, and can it be copied from one installation to another; of course only if all the app links are present? Also, where is the kicker app. icon and menu information stored; and the same question, can it be copied from one installation to another?
A question about an unoffical remaster probally shouldn't be posted to the list, but I will answer this as it's my remaster. To answer the question, I'm not sure why this is, but to fix it, you can copy the .kde directory from /home/knoppix/ to your installed /home/user/ directory, taking care to back up first. The menu info *per user* is stored in the .kde directory - changes from the default menu entries. There is kmenuedit and kappfinder to change the menus.
