This line is used as a template for the Knoppix-customizer from Kester
Habermann. Kesters program can modify the boot options directly in the
ISO image without having to mount anything (portable).
http://developer.linuxtag.net/cgi-bin/cvsweb/knoppix-customize/
The program extracts syslinux.cfg from the image or puts a changed
syslinux.cfg insife the image. The file size of syslinux.cfg must noch
be changed, though, so the line you found is just there to provide space
for a full line of custom options that can be set as default by
exchanging the DEFAULT line.
It has no other function, and does not influence in any way the normal
boot process. Please keep in mind that both, syslinux and the kernel
used in Knoppix, are compiled with support for boot commandlines of
512 chars instead of only 256 (which is default).
