SATA support in linux-2.6.19.1

Hello everyone,

I am using Debian Sarge 3.1r2. : IDE hdd & Seagate SATA 160Gb. Debian was installed on IDE first and linux-2.6.19 was compiled on it.
I copied the contents to SATA using dd and installed grub on it.

When booting from SATA, it gives :-
--------
pivot_root: No such file or directory
/sbin/init: 432 :cannot open /dev/console: No such file
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
---------
The same kernel boots fine on IDE hd, but not on SATA.

Has anybody tried SATA support on linux-2.6.19.1 ? [ esp for a SEAGATE HDD ]

I read in forums that menu option has changed for SATA, from 2.6.19 release.
I havent had much success yet.

I am sure, I must have missed out some config options. Here is the part of my config
--------------------------
CONFIG_SATA_SIL=m
CONFIG_SATA_SIL24=m
-----------------

If anyone has successfully installed, kindly forward the config file.

Thank you,
Danny
