There is no git commit. This is a solution proposed by me in the
thread "Bug#334104: RFC: workaround for dmfe/tulip module problem"
[0,1], to which I did not receive any comments, other than feedback
from the original bug submitter and approval of the d-i release
manager.
The parameters are intended to be used when booting the installer, as
it can automatically pass the parameters to the modules, and create
appropriate configuration files for modprobe on the installed system.
