okay, I thought about this some more and dpkf-reconf is probably not
the way to go. What's needed, IMO, is a configuration front-end for
parents to use that allows them to control multiple aspects of a kids
session. Maybe everything, login parameters (password or not),
whether to launch a full DE or a simple gcompris session in fullscreen
mode (which man gcompris mentions), selecting age appropriate themes
for WM interaction. You could even go so far as to give parents access
to kids desktop menus and the ability to edit those. Obviously the
final product could be a LOT of stuff.
