I'm a complete proponent for team maintained packages everywhere in Debian. Only the most important packages are better off in the hands of trusted, single maintainers. However my understanding of team work is that every package is maintained by human beings who have some kind of motivation for doing this work. In my opinion the time pool of the remaining team members (in addition to their usual work) is better spent on fixing RC bugs and updating existing packages to the latest upstream version. If you intend to introduce a new package, you should be prepared for showing some commitment and the willingness to answer bug reports and to talk with upstream, if necessary. If you simply introduce something without having a proper motivation, it will most likely rot in the future because nobody feels responsible for it. Thus said: I'm always inclined to support someone who tries to achieve something as part of a team. Though without motivation nothing good will come of it. Markus
