Yeah, unless you want to build .debs yourself, you should just do a
local install.

my packages exist and generally work for me although I consider them
pre-alpha quality.  My TODO list is quite long with moving files around
and debianizing the package.  I expect the package to take many
iterations to get to where I like it.

You can find my current packages at http://debian.innovationsw.com
although they are an older version of JBOSS.  my first todo item is to
upgrade to 3.2+.  Hopefully I can revisit this package within the next
few months.
