I am not at my machine now so i can't give you my exact config, but my dir is /var/chroot/bind, and of course named is in /var/chroot/bind/usr/sbin as named-xfer is. I tired to set named-xfer "/usr/sbin/named-xfer" in named.conf - relative to chroot cage - it didn't work. A tried also to set it to /var/chroot/bind/usr/sbin/named-xfer result in logs is the same - only paths differs
