Most people that do that also register static MAC-IPv4 pairs in their
DHCP server and if the machines in question do not use Windows, you can
use EUI64 mappings to provide IPv6 records for hostnames to shell in.
The other way 'round (working RDNS) is not so easy and commonly ignored
in IPv6 deployments.
