But broken, sorry to say this..:-)

Please read down to the end of this mail...

Please think about filling in these comments instead of leaving the
defaults.

The French team uses the following template:

# Translation of iodine debconf templates to French
# Copyright (C) 2007 Christian Perrier <bubulle@debian.org>
# This file is distributed under the same license as the iodine package.
#
# Christian Perrier <bubulle@debian.org>, 2007.

You should remove the "fuzzy" marker on the header. Fuzzy markers
alaways have the same meaning in PO files:
"the information that follows is 'close' to be accurate but should not
be used without prior check"

Better fill in the Project-Id-Version. Either use nothing..or the
package name. The package name+version is not really useful

*That* makes the file broken.

You *must* specify the charset used in the file. Here "CHARSET" should
be replaced by "UTF-8".

Even when there is nothing but ASCII characters, CHARSET must be
replaced by "ASCII".

All these errors or quirks would have been catched by:

msgfmt -o /dev/null -c --statistics it.po
