Java and HPPA

Isn't this a FAQ by now?

I did a search... these are the things I found out (and tried):

1. apt-get install cocoon: requires tomcat (of course...)
2. apt-get install tomcat: requires some java jvm (of course... so go get it... but nah...)

3. apt-get install kaffe: in database, but not available
4. apt-get source kaffe: can't find version 1.0.5e
5. apt-get install free-java-sdk: not available
6. apt-get install jikes (ok)
7. apt-get install sablevm: not found

I'd really like to run Cocoon on this box: what gives? Can't somebody get Java to work on Debian smoothly, cleanly, and effortlessly? Why does it have to be such a pain?

On my RPM-based systems I can just use the Jpackage RPMs and many others. No problems there...
