Oops, I didn't realize that I had actually pulled it from Christian
Marillat's unofficial repository (which also has the
mplayer debs).

Actually, I just went and messed with these sliders again, and after
turning "contrast" down to about 1/4, it seems okay. The settings didn't
use to stick, but now they do (maybe I used to close the prefs window
incorrectly?). Anyway, it seems to be okay now. Thanks Bastian.

I wish it wouldn't reset the Xvideo settings, but now, at least, it resets
them to something pretty close to their default values. Good enough for me.
