The GNOME xrdb code shouldn't change any colours which you explicitly
set yourself: GNOME modifies the X resource database, and then sources
your Xdefaults etc. If you really want to totally turn off the merging,
touch files in ~/.gnome2/xrdb for each file in
/usr/share/control-center-2.0/xrdb. The per-user files override the
system files, and as they are empty, nothing happens.
Thinking about it, the xrdb files should be in /etc... I'll try and
change that for G2.6.
