Beta 1 is coming out todayish, Beta 2 is going out on the 25th, and the
Release Candidate is going out on September 1st. The final release will be
on September 10th. So there's still almost another month for stabilisation
before we release.

There are areas of 2.4 that I don't think will be regarded as 100% stable,
as is the case with any release. I'm sure we'll be doing at least two point
releases after 2.4.0, as we've done in the past.

It's more important to get 2.4.0 out into people's hands than it is to wait
for amorphous and difficult-to-define stability goals. I'm not saying that
it won't be usable, I'm just giving a realistic appraisal of where we're at.
