It's not a case of the terminal 'not working' -> it doesn't interoperate
with the rest of the desktop.

It's one thing to have 1.x applications such as Evolution running under G2D,
but having critical components of either desktop release running together?
Not sensible at all, and Debian shouldn't be making that mistake *for* its
users.
