Bug#39552: libc6: /var/lib/misc doesn't exist
Package: libc6
Version: 2.1.1-11
Preparing to replace libc6 2.1.1-10 (using .../base/libc6_2.1.1-11.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement libc6 ...
Setting up libc6 (2.1.1-11) ...
ldconfig: warning: can't open /usr/lib/libdsocks.so (No such file or
directory), skipping

Run tzconfig' if you wish to change it.
cp: copying multiple files, but last argument (/var/lib/misc/.) is not a
directory
Try cp --help' for more information.
dpkg: error processing libc6 (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
libc6
E: Sub-process returned an error code (1)
The postinst:
if [ -f /var/db/passwd.db ]
then
mv /var/db /var/db.old
ln -sf /var/lib/misc /var/db
cp -a /var/db.old/*.db /var/lib/misc
rm -rf /var/db.old
elif [ -f /var/state/glibc/passwd.db ]
then
mv /var/state/glibc /var/state/glibc.old
ln -sf /var/lib/misc /var/state/glibc
cp -a /var/state/glibc.old/*.db /var/lib/misc/.
rm -rf /var/state/glibc.old
fi
Any reason for the /var/lib/misc in one and /var/lib/misc/. in the other?
Cheers
Adrian (expecting there to be about 10 similar reports, but the bug web page
doesn't list them).
